The final session, which served as the closing panel of the conference, was chaired by Azerbaijan 6th Term MP Elşad Mirbeşiroğlu. In this section, where the “global security architecture” was discussed in detail; Rtd. Ambassador Fatih Ceylan, American Communist Party CEC Member Jackson Hinkle, Deputy Director of the Institute from the People’s Republic of China Prof. Liu Xu, Hacettepe University Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdem İlker Mutlu, and Retired Russian Admiral Konstantin Sinkov shared their observations on the subject with the participants.

June 26-27, 2026, Taşyapı Event Center, Istanbul

The international Global Security and NATO Conference, organized by the World Civilizations Initiative Research Center, was held on June 26-27, 2026, at the Istanbul Taşyapı Event Center.

In alphabetical order, two speakers from the USA, one from Germany, one from Azerbaijan, one from Bulgaria, one from the People’s Republic of China, two from the Islamic Republic of Iran, two from Italy, two from the Russian Federation, one from Serbia, and seven from Turkey made presentations. Distinguished politicians, Members of Parliament, Retired Generals, Academics, and Experts provided contributions during the four sessions spanning two days.

The views shared by the participants in the meeting, where the “Global Security and NATO” problematic was addressed from various angles across a very broad spectrum, can be summarized as follows:

1. Based on the crisis and upheaval being experienced within the Atlantic System, it would not be surprising to foresee that the summit to convene in Ankara on July 7-8, 2026, will constitute NATO’s last summit. French President Macron stating that “NATO is experiencing brain death” and US President Trump describing NATO as a “paper tiger” confirm this foresight.
2. The US’s efforts to herd the other member countries of the organization through NATO have contributed to this organization becoming unsustainable as the world becomes multipolar. The continuation of this situation will make the world an increasingly insecure place.
3. Iran’s cooperation with Russia and the People’s Republic of China has played a significant part in the victory of the resistance that Iran realized by giving martyrs against the US-Israeli attack. Turkey’s withdrawal from NATO and participation in this unity will make a serious contribution to the future of humanity and the alliance’s deterrent effect against attacks on global security.
4. The axis to be formed by Turkey, Russia, Iran, and China will also serve as a basis for the formation of other regional collaborations. Turkey having a larger share in the collapsing NATO will yield no result other than bearing a larger share of the burden of the collapse.
5. The disintegration being experienced within the Atlantic System is accompanied by moral decay processes that particularly erode the strength of the youth. Global security has become an issue concerning not only the short-term but also the long-term future of humanity.
6. Humanity is desperately yearning for a new civilization. A new civilization rising from the East and the South is a candidate to meet this need and will undoubtedly not be a repetition of the Atlantic System.
